Wet lab and startup business incubator
December 2019

Current practices in field of food agriculture is to run produce through a dilute bleach solution to kill or remove bacterial contamination. While this practice reduces the risk to the end user, it actually shifts the risk to the farm workers and to the environment. The preferred choice among food safety professionals is to use ozone for this purpose. Unfortunately, ozone is very reactive and unstable making it not a viable option. En Solución has figured out a way to keep ozone in solution indefinitely so that it can be stored and used a wash solution for produce. Hear Alex Athey talk about why this is an important use of the Bioscience Incubator’s resources and why we are thrilled to have them as a member company.

It hard to believe that on January 31, 2020, it will be 3 years since we first opened our doors to startup companies. Today, we have 15 companies leasing space from us working on things such as food safety, a drug for a rare childhood disease and opiod addiction. If you haven't had a chance to see our facility, come to our open house and see it, meet us, and introduce yourself. While you're here, enjoy a cookie (or 2) and a cup of coffee.
